In a vibrant display of patriotism and unity, students and NSS volunteers of the Central University of Punjab (CU Punjab) organized a spirited Tiranga Yatra at the University Campus, and at Bathinda City. The initiative encouraged citizens to bring the Tiranga home and proudly hoist it from 9th to 15th August 2025, in celebration of India’s Independence.

On Thursday, students and NSS volunteers, led by led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kiran Hazarika along with School Deans; senior administrators; faculty; and staff, conducted a vibrant Tiranga March to inspire national pride and civic responsibility. The march began at the University Academic Block and covered key locations, to raise awareness about the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.

Before this, the NSS volunteers also hosted a Tiranga Rally in Bathinda City on Wednesday, starting from the Bus Stand and concluding at Qila Mubarak. Participants in both the above rallies marched enthusiastically, chanting patriotic slogans such as “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. The sight of the Tricolour held high transformed the entire route into a corridor of national pride.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari lauded the collective efforts of CU Punjab students and the people of District Bathinda in making the event a grand success. He emphasized that such initiatives strengthen the bond between citizens and the nation, especially as India prepares to celebrate its 79th Independence Day.

The event not only highlighted the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav but also served as a unifying moment for the people of Bathinda, reinforcing the message of unity, patriotism, and community participation. During the Tiranga Yatra, students, teachers, and staff together held the Tricolour, sending a powerful message of love for the nation.
