A young man was shot dead late Thursday night in Bhalot village under the IMT police station area of Rohtak, in what police describe as a case of personal enmity. Upon receiving the information, IMT police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to PGIMS Rohtak for post-mortem examination.

The police have registered a case against a named accused and several others, and an investigation is currently underway. Initial findings suggest that the murder was the result of an ongoing personal rivalry.

The deceased has been identified as Vikas, who worked at a liquor vend. A few days prior to the incident, he reportedly had a dispute with a young man named Alok from the same village. Police believe that this conflict escalated, leading Alok and his associates to open fire on Vikas.

Family members rushed the critically injured Vikas to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His body was later brought to PGIMS for post-mortem and handed over to the family.

According to sources, the accused allegedly lured Vikas to the location by calling him. As soon as he arrived near Bhalot in his car, they opened indiscriminate fire on him.

Police further revealed that Vikas, also known as Narad, had a criminal background. About a year ago, a case was registered against him for firing outside a liquor vend in the village. He was later arrested from Haridwar. Additionally, a video of him firing with his associates had previously gone viral on social media.

Authorities are conducting raids to apprehend the accused and have assured strict action in the case.
