In a significant counter-terrorism operation, the District Amritsar Rural Police, District Gurdaspur Police, and SSOC-Amritsar, in coordination with central agencies, have busted an ISI-sponsored Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror module being operated by a foreign-based handler. Two accused have been arrested in the joint operation.

According to DGP of Punjab Police, Security forces recovered a large cache of explosives and equipment, including five hand grenades, two special detonators, a PTT timer with coder and decoder, a 9V battery, and IED material consisting of 1 kg of high explosives packed with nails. Additionally, a Baofeng walkie-talkie along with a cable and trigger mechanism was seized, indicating preparations for high-impact attacks aimed at disturbing public peace.

An FIR has been registered at Kalanaur Police Station in Gurdaspur under relevant sections of the Explosive Substances Act. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to trace both forward and backward linkages, including foreign handlers and any local support networks involved.
