In Ludhiana, a bride who got married from Kapurthala allegedly broke off her relationship soon after obtaining Canadian Permanent Residency (PR). Just two years into the marriage, she left her husband and started living elsewhere.

The distressed husband tried multiple times to convince her to return, but she refused. He then informed his family members living in Ludhiana about the situation. Since then, she has not been in contact.

The victim’s family has filed a complaint at Salem Tabri police station against their daughter-in-law and her parents. They alleged that the woman married their son only to secure Canadian PR.

After an investigation, the police registered a case against four people, including the woman, her father, and her brother.

Jarnail Singh, a resident of Aman Nagar in Ludhiana, stated in his complaint that his son, Man Singh, is a permanent resident (PR) of Canada. He was married to Amandeep Kaur, a resident of village Rehana Jattan in Kapurthala, on February 10, 2024.

He further said that after some time, Man Singh took his wife Amandeep to Canada. It is alleged that after reaching Canada and obtaining PR, Amandeep revealed her true intentions and left her husband to live at an unknown location.

Based on the complaint, the Salem Tabri police have registered a case against Amandeep Kaur (wife), Balbir Singh (father), Jasveer Singh (brother), and Gurvinder Singh, a resident of village Bhora in Kapurthala.
