15 fours and 15 sixes power India to 251/3 in 25 overs against England
In the final of the Under-19 World Cup 2026, Indian batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced a breathtaking knock that will be remembered for years. Playing the title clash at the Harare Sports Club, India won the toss and chose to bat first, racing to 251 runs for the loss of three wickets in just 25 overs. The foundation of this dominant position was laid by Suryavanshi, who smashed a sensational 175-run innings and completely overpowered the England bowling attack.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s innings was a perfect blend of power and timing. He struck 15 fours and 15 sixes, sending the ball to all parts of the ground. England’s bowlers struggled to find the right line and length, as Suryavanshi punished every loose delivery. Whether pace or spin, nothing seemed to trouble him, and the scoring rate remained consistently high throughout his stay at the crease.
India suffered an early setback, but Suryavanshi steadied the innings alongside captain Ayush Mhatre. The duo added a crucial 142-run partnership, which turned the momentum firmly in India’s favour. Ayush Mhatre played a composed knock of 53 runs before being dismissed. He was caught by Ben Mayes off the bowling of Alex Green, bringing an end to the valuable partnership. By then, however, India had already built a strong platform for a massive total.
India are playing their record 10th Under-19 World Cup final, underlining their dominance at this level. England, on the other hand, have reached the final for the third time. Their only Under-19 World Cup title came back in 1998. Notably, the two teams also faced each other in the 2022 final, where India defeated England to lift the trophy for the fifth time. Once again, India look well placed to repeat that success.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s historic innings has added immense excitement to the final and put England under severe pressure. With a huge total on the board, all eyes will now be on the Indian bowlers to see how they defend this commanding score. As the match progresses, fans will be eager to find out whether India can convert this dominant batting display into yet another Under-19 World Cup triumph.
