MS Dhoni Extends Best Wishes for Vande Mataram CISF Coastal Cyclothon-2026

Punjab Newsline,Sports:

Praises initiative promoting national unity, fitness, and coastal security awareness

Cricket legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni has extended his best wishes for the Vande Mataram CISF Coastal Cyclothon–2026. He described the campaign as a commendable initiative that reflects the spirit of national unity, encourages physical fitness, and spreads awareness about coastal security. The cyclothon is being seen as an important step not only towards promoting a healthy lifestyle but also towards strengthening citizens’ sense of responsibility towards the nation.

At the Mumbai Airport, Dhoni interacted with the CISF team and spoke with the personnel associated with the event. During the interaction, he highlighted that such initiatives help build public participation and a feeling of collective responsibility. He added that campaigns like these inspire society, especially the youth, to follow a healthy, disciplined lifestyle and stay connected to national causes.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) also welcomed Dhoni’s encouragement and expressed gratitude for his support. In an official statement, CISF said that motivating words from a national icon like Dhoni further strengthen the force’s determination to carry out impactful initiatives in the supreme interest of the nation. CISF believes that public involvement and awareness can make such campaigns even more effective and meaningful.

Meanwhile, recently, singer AP Dhillon shared a special moment on social media by posting pictures featuring MS Dhoni, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, and himself. The photos were reportedly taken during an adrenaline-filled muddy adventure at Salman Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel. The trio was seen enjoying the activity and having a great time together. The pictures quickly gained attention online and were widely appreciated by fans.

Talking about Dhoni’s cricket journey, the former Indian captain has retired from international cricket and now plays only in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is currently preparing to represent the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2026 season, continuing his long association with the franchise, which began in the inaugural season of 2008.

Dhoni remains one of the most influential figures in the CSK camp and continues to be a key part of the team’s leadership group. Although he stepped down as captain last season, the responsibility was taken over by Ruturaj Gaikwad. CSK, however, had a disappointing campaign in IPL 2025, finishing at the bottom of the points table with only eight points from 14 matches.

Widely regarded as a modern-day legend, Dhoni has captained India across all three formats and led the team to major achievements, including the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011. He has also been honoured with prestigious awards such as the Padma Bhushan (2018), Padma Shri (2009) and the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award (2008). Dhoni represented India from 2004 to 2019, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy in Indian cricket.
