A case has come to light from Amritsar, Punjab, involving the mysterious disappearance of a national-level volleyball player in Dubai. Lakhbir Singh (28) had traveled to Dubai with his wife in 2024, but he suddenly went missing shortly thereafter. The case took a new turn recently when his wife sent his death certificate through the village Sarpanch—an act the family has alleged to be part of a conspiracy.

Lakhbir Singh's father, Desha Singh, stated that his son was a national-level volleyball player who had won numerous medals and trophies in various competitions. The family had sent him abroad to ensure a better future for him. Their plan was for him to eventually move from Dubai to Italy. To facilitate this, they sold their land and paid approximately ₹18 lakh to an agent; however, the agent absconded with the money.

According to his father, when they asked their son and daughter-in-law to return home, the daughter-in-law took Lakhbir somewhere with her just one day before their scheduled departure. That very night, she returned alone and claimed that Lakhbir had gotten lost. Since then, to this day, no trace of him has been found.

Desha Singh revealed that his daughter-in-law recently sent Lakhbir's death certificate through the Sarpanch. He alleges that his daughter-in-law has since remarried and that the entire affair appears to be part of a larger conspiracy. The family has demanded an impartial investigation into the matter from the government. They maintain that until the truth comes to light, it remains unclear whether their son is alive or not.
