Pathankot police have apprehended three youths riding an Activa scooter and recovered heroin along with drug money from their possession.
According to preliminary investigations, the three accused were involved in the supply of narcotic substances. Police from Division No. 2 recovered 7.88 grams of heroin, ₹5,030 in drug money from the scooter’s storage compartment and an electronic weighing scale.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of SSI Arun Kumar, posted at Police Station Division No. 2. The police team was patrolling near Patel Chowk, moving from the Improvement Trust office side. When they reached a lane behind a private hospital at Patel Chowk, they spotted three youths approaching on a scooter. On seeing the police, the suspects panicked and attempted to turn back, raising suspicion.
Acting swiftly, the police team intercepted and detained all three individuals. During questioning, the accused identified themselves as Rohit, Rahul, and Deepak Kumar.
A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
