A heart wrenching incident has come to light from Haryana’s Kurukshetra, where a husband, wife and their three-year-old daughter were found dead, hanging from the ceiling in a room on the first floor of their house in the Prem Nagar area.

According to preliminary information, the extreme step is believed to have been driven by distress over the child’s serious medical condition. The couple had reportedly been struggling for a long time due to their daughter’s illness.

The incident came to light after the deceased, identified as Jitender, sent a text message to a close relative. In the message, he mentioned his intention to end his life and urged the relative to take care of his mother. He also shared details about the location of the room key. The message was received around 5:30 am and had been scheduled in advance, indicating that the act was premeditated.

Upon receiving the message, the relative immediately alerted the police. SHO Baljeet Singh of Krishna Gate police station and DSP Sunil Kumar reached the spot along with a heavy police force. When the door was opened, the scene inside was deeply disturbing. Jitender (32), his wife Yukta (30), and their three-year-old daughter Madhavi were found hanging.

Jitender was employed at the Ambala post office, while his wife was a homemaker. Their daughter was reportedly paralyzed since birth, and the couple had been under immense emotional strain due to her condition.

Jitender was originally a resident of Sikri village in Karnal district and had been living in Prem Nagar, Kurukshetra, for about 15 years.

The police have sent the bodies for postmortem and have initiated a detailed investigation into the matter. DSP Sunil Kumar stated that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly examined.
