In a significant step toward strengthening Punjab’s agricultural infrastructure, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Sardar Gurmeet Singh Khuddian handed over appointment letters to 13 newly recruited Agriculture Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) at his office today. Congratulating the selected candidates, the Minister encouraged them to serve farmers with full dedication, sincerity, and integrity.
Khuddian described the newly appointed ASIs as a crucial link between the government’s progressive agricultural policies and the farming community. He emphasized that their role at the grassroots level would be vital in ensuring the effective implementation of schemes and the timely delivery of technical guidance to farmers. Addressing the recruits, he said their conduct, work ethic, and sense of responsibility would directly impact the prosperity of the state’s agriculture sector, as they are now closely connected with the nation’s “annadata” (food providers).
Highlighting the government’s continued focus on expanding services within the Agriculture Department, the Minister stated that since the government led by Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann assumed office, a total of 133 Agriculture Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) and 200 Agriculture Development Officers (ADOs) have been recruited. He noted that these appointments have infused fresh energy into the department and strengthened its capacity to deliver efficient and effective services to farmers.
The Minister further informed that the Punjab government has provided government jobs to 63,943 youths across various departments so far. He said that large-scale recruitment has filled long-pending vacant posts, reflecting the state government’s strong commitment to transparent governance and improved public service delivery.
On the occasion, Secretary of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Arshdeep Thind, Director of Agriculture Gurjeet Singh Brar, and other senior officials of the department were also present.
