Mega event in Mohali from March 13–15; CM Mann says industrialization is key to reviving Punjab’s economy
Taking a major step toward industrial transformation, the ‘Progressive Punjab Investors Summit’ will be held in Mohali from March 13 to 15, 2026. Reviewing the preparations, CM Mann described the summit as a historic opportunity that will give a new boost to the state’s economy. He stated that the event is expected to accelerate investment proposals worth ₹1.50 lakh crore and create significant employment opportunities for around 5.20 lakh youth.
CM Mann said that with the agricultural sector facing multiple challenges, large-scale industrialization is the only effective path to strengthening Punjab’s economy. He emphasized that the summit, themed “Punjab Means Business – Policy to Practice,” will assure investors of seamless execution from policy formulation to on-ground implementation.
He informed that the state government has already organized roadshows in major Indian cities including Gurugram, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Mumbai, as well as in countries like Japan and South Korea to attract global investors. The summit will feature inaugural and valedictory sessions, country sessions, plenary discussions, and sectoral meetings focusing on diverse investment opportunities.
CM Mann highlighted that Punjab has emerged as a preferred investment destination due to its industry-friendly policies, surplus power availability, and fast-track regulatory approvals. The government has simplified procedures, including the introduction of green stamp paper for sale deed registrations to ensure transparency and efficiency.
He further stated that leading companies such as Tata Steel and Sanatan Textiles have shown keen interest in investing in the state. The mega event will also include exhibitions, seminars, and technical sessions focusing on emerging technologies and industrial strategies. CM Mann expressed confidence that the summit will position Punjab prominently on the global industrial map.
