The weather in Punjab continues to remain unpredictable, with significant changes being observed across the state. An orange alert has been issued for several areas today, although bright sunshine has also been reported in some regions.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is no immediate relief expected from the current conditions. As per the district-level warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), various parts of the state are likely to experience thunderstorms, rainfall, strong winds, and lightning between April 4 and April 8.
The department stated that the primary reason behind this sudden weather shift is a western disturbance along with an active pressure system over the Middle East region. This has increased moisture levels over northwest India, making the atmosphere unstable.
As a result, conditions are favorable for thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and rain. A slight drop in temperature is also expected during this period.
