Punjab Newsline | Hoshiarpur
In a major crackdown, the Hoshiarpur District Police has busted an inter-state and foreign-linked module involved in drug trafficking and illegal arms supply, arresting four accused in the operation.
Police recovered 9.925 kilograms of heroin, two foreign-made pistols, eight magazines, and 40 live cartridges from the suspects. The seizure highlights the scale and sophistication of the network operating across regions.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused were working as local handlers for gangsters operating from abroad. They were actively involved in the smuggling of narcotics as well as facilitating the supply of illegal weapons within the region.
An FIR has been registered at the Garhshankar Police Station, and further investigation is underway to uncover the broader network and possible international links.
Confirming the development, Gaurav Yadav shared details on social media platform X, stating that the arrested individuals were managing local operations for foreign-based gangsters. He added that the network was not only distributing drugs but also ensuring the availability of illegal arms.
