Punjab Newsline | Chandigarh
A ma was seen sitting motionless by the roadside in Chandigarh for nearly an hour, raising concerns over possible drug abuse linked to so-called “zombie drugs.” Witnesses reported that the man had his head bowed and showed no body movement during the entire time.
According to onlookers, the man was holding a beedi in his hand but was unable to smoke it. People tried to speak to him, but he did not respond or move, further deepening suspicion about his condition.
Chandigarh Police stated that efforts are underway to identify the man and trace his address. Officials said that once identified, he will be questioned to determine what substance he may have consumed.
This is not an isolated incident in Chandigarh. Earlier, videos of a Blinkit delivery boy and another youth had surfaced, showing them standing still without any movement for nearly an hour. Similar cases have also been reported from Ludhiana and Jalandhar, where at least three such incidents were recorded.
Authorities are now increasingly concerned about the possible spread of dangerous narcotics and their unusual effects on users.
