A major accident occurred in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday afternoon when a boat carrying devotees collided with a pontoon bridge at Keshi Ghat and capsized in the Yamuna River.

According to reports, around 25 devotees onboard fell into the river after the accident. So far, 10 people have been confirmed dead. Police teams, along with divers, have rescued 15 individuals safely. One of the rescued devotees has been admitted to a local joint hospital for treatment.

Upon receiving the information, police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and immediately launched a rescue operation. A large crowd gathered at the spot, causing some hindrance to the ongoing rescue efforts. Authorities have appealed to people to remain calm and cooperate with the rescue teams. The situation is being closely monitored.

Preliminary investigation suggests that a group of around 150 people had come from Ludhiana (Punjab) and Mukteshwar, and those involved in the accident were part of this group. Officials also stated that the boat, operated by a private Sailor, has sunk and efforts are underway to locate it.
